Why Riverwood? We came across Riverwood when we started searching the internet for private properties in Queensland that we could potentially hire for our wedding day.  We saw the photos of the venue with the tipi set up that were posted on both the Wedshed and the Riverwood websites and that got us both excited.  I immediately sent off an enquiry.

 

From the moment we drove into Riverwood, we instantly fell in love with the property.  It was everything we wanted with an added bonus of the welcoming venue coordinator, Carmen, who gave our whole experience from start to finish a personable touch.  There was no need to look anywhere else, we were hooked and booked in our date.

 

Riverwood is a blank canvas, which allowed us to create the wedding day we both really wanted.  The property is easily accessible and beautifully landscaped, which provided a range of photo opportunities on site to ensure we got the most out of our day and more time with our family and friends.  We had two guests with mobility issues and there was no issue in getting them around.  Carmen ensured that their day was just as comfortable and relaxing as it was for everyone else.

Favourite moment: Honestly, it is really hard to pin point just one favourite moment from our wedding day.  Every single part of our day was immensely special and memorable for us, we really couldn’t have wished for a better day. 

 

I would say my favourite “thing” about the day was the amount of love you could feel, not only just between Karepa and myself, but also amongst all of our guests.  That was an unbelievable feeling to experience and share with our nearest and dearest.

 

The most special moment was my Dad walking me down the aisle.  He worked so hard in the lead up to our wedding day and made it his goal to get me down that aisle, which he did and I couldn’t have been more proud or grateful for all of the tough days he has battled through his MS to do that for me. I will cherish that day forever.

Hints and Tips for other brides: 

• Book Carmen as your OTD Coordinator - There is no one better than her to run your wedding day.   She is approachable, reliable, personable and really ensured our day was stress free, so that we and all of our guests had the best experience at Riverwood.

• Keep it simple – there is no need to go overboard with décor, the venue really sets the atmosphere.

• Enjoy your day – I never imagined that our wedding would have been as special, stress-free and as fun as it was.  Even though we maximised our time on the property and with our guests, the day really does fly by so make sure you enjoy every single moment and leave the organisation up to the professionals.
