Describe your day: Our day was filled with laughter, smiles, games and lots of delicious food. We had such a blast and were so lucky to be able to share our wedding day with all of our loved ones in such a magical spot. I wish we could do it all again and am secretly hoping someone I know gets married at Riverwood so I can relive some of the amazing memories all over again.

 

What was the style and feel of your wedding: All we ever wanted was to be outdoors, have food trucks and a relaxed feel for both us and our guests. The day turned out to be exactly that, plus so much more.

 

Why Riverwood: Even before we went to Riverwood we knew it was going to be the spot we would have our special day. When the time to visit finally came around our hearts were already set. Riverwood was the first and only place we viewed. The property suited our ideas and the beautiful setting amongst the hills and the flowing river were ideal for our laid back, eclectic, festival themed day. From then on it was a pleasure to work with Carmen and effortless to plan and put the day together. 

 

Tips and hints for other DIY minded brides:

(1) Stick to your guns and be true to what you want and how you envision your day. (2) Don’t be afraid to get friends or family involved – we used friends or family for my hair, makeup, photography, flowers, making furniture pieces and even to compile music for the day. We loved doing this because we knew we could trust them and have a bit of fun along the way. It helped with our laid back approach too. (3) Have a laugh and enjoy every second of every moment. It will be over before you know it. (4) Try DIY – if you are feeling adventurous or brave sometimes you can make or find amazing pieces that are unique to you. It makes it feel a little more personal and special. (5) Get a coordinator – we hired Carmen for the day and she gave us lots of helpful hints, ideas and helped make our vision come alive. She also worked alongside and organised the vendors so we could enjoy our day without the stresses.
